Todd Skinner wanted to climb Hades, a new “5.12+” route on Suicide Rock just climbed by John Long. I was the designated photographer, having refused belay duty. Todd had decided to skip the "easy" 5.12a first pitch and just climb the hard pitch, so we had to hike up over the top of Suicide Rock to rappel in. During the hike I noticed this snag framing Tahquitz Rock across the canyon. I have always liked the juxtaposition of dead trees against rockscapes, this one especially.
