Bob Horan solos Johnny Belinda, Eldorado Canyon, 1986.

Bob Horan had made the first ascent of Rainbow Wall (5.13a) the year before and took me over to fool around on it during my trip to Eldorado Canyon in 1986, explaining that it was too hot that August afternoon to have any success, which was fine with me as it was a convenient excuse for my ensuing dismal failure. Afterward, Bob took me on a tour of boulder problems, during which he extemporaneously soloed this crazily overhanging 5.12a route up the cave at the base of the Whale's Tail.
