Mount St. Helens

Mount St. Helens became the most famous of the Cascade Volcanoes when it erupted violently on May 18, 1980. All 8,365 feet of what's left of the peak is usually climbed via a scree and snow hike up Ptarmigan Ridge on the mountain's south side. It is a popular ski mountaineering trip.
